This is one end of the Dzeqiang Night Market. At the time I took this picture I was walking over to Yancheng. I didn't stop to buy anything there. 這是自強夜市的入口 。 我拍這張照片的時候正走往鹽埕， 沒空逛街 。
Yicheng Temple, to the near the 85 Sky Tower. 意誠堂關帝廟在85大樓附近 。
To the west of the 85 Sky Tower you'll find a light rail station. The local government has been putting a lot of money into both the light rail line and surrounding areas, creating green spaces in formerly industrial areas. 85大樓西邊有輕軌站 。 高雄市政府花了許多錢發展輕軌站跟輕軌站附近的綠地 ， 以前的工業區慢慢消失了。
The Xingguang Waterside Park is in nearby Qianzhen District. Part of this park is also in Lingya. It's not far from the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. 星光水岸公園在鄰近的前鎮區 ， 可是公園還有部分位在苓雅內 ， 很靠近高雄展覽館 。
Pier 21 is across the canal. Those buildings across the water are in Qijin. 21號碼頭在水道的另外一邊 . 你看到的建築物在旗津 。
This is the inside of the 85 Sky Tower. It's mostly empty now, but there are hotels operating on the upper floors. The amusement park, department store and restaurants that were once there? Long, long gone... 這是85大樓裡面 。 裡面很多空間沒有人使用 ， 只有比較高的樓層是一些旅館在營業 。 以前的樂園 、百貨和餐廳呢 ? 早就不在了!
In the Sanduo Shopping District you'll find the FE (Far Eastern) 21, Sogo and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores. I do most of my department store shopping here. 大遠百 、 太平洋跟新光三越在三多商圈 。 我通常在這裡逛百貨公司。
This weird statue is next to the Weiwuying MRT station, east of the Jungshan Freeway. 這個奇奇怪怪的藝術品在中山高速公路東邊的衛武營捷運站旁邊 。
Nearby Jongjeng Park is between the MRT station and the Wuweiying Metropolitan Park. 中正公園在捷運站和衛武營都會公園中間 。
The Weiwuying Metropolitan Park. I was surprised at how nice this place is. On the map it's just a blank patch next to the Arts Center, but a recent visit revealed a lake, trails and a large variety of birds. 衛武營都會公園 。 這個公園很棒! 它在地圖上是藝術文化中心旁邊的空格， 我到那邊的時候發現它有湖 、步道和多種鳥類 。
I didn't walk through all of this park (it's big), but I liked what I saw. 我還沒走完整座公園 ， 可是我滿喜歡看過的部分 。

West down the Orange Line you'll find the Kaohsiung City Cultural Center. 走捷運橘線往西會經過高雄市文化中心 。
Is there a name for this architectural style? "Chinese modernist?" "Chinese brutalist?" Whatever it is, there's a lot of it in Kaohsiung. 這種建築風格有名字嗎 ? 中國現代式嗎 ? 或是Chinese brutalist? 高雄有很多這種建築物 。
On the other end of the district, not far from the Love River, is the Holy Rosary Cathedral. This is the oldest Catholic church in Taiwan, and the seat of the Bishop of Kaohsiung. 苓雅區另外一邊有靠近愛河的玫瑰聖母聖殿 。 這是台灣歷史最長久的天主教堂 ，也是高雄主教的坐堂 。
And yes, while I was taking pictures I visited the giant rubber ducky near the Pier 2 Arts Center. Chinese New Year was around the corner, the crowds were oppressive, and the light rail was "standing room only." I'd already seen this duck in Keelung years ago, so the spectacle was lost on me. 沒錯 ， 我拍照的時候經過駁二的黃色小鴨 。 春節快到了 ，人超多 ! 輕軌沒有位子坐 。 我幾年前在基隆看過小鴨了 ， 所以這時候比較沒有興趣 。
