8a. On November of last year a man employed at Langdao Elementary School was cycling around Orchid Island, missed a turn, and went into a riverbed where he crashed and later died from his injuries. The man's father took both the Lanyu Township Office and the Taitung County Government to court over the incident, citing a lack of guardrails and insufficient street lighting along that stretch of road. 2. This village is REMOTE. I've only been there once, and it was like stepping into the pages of an old National Geographic. Can you imagine thinking of Central Dawu as "the big city?"
