According to the last census, 328,962 people live in Sanmin. 上次的人口統計中，三民的人口是328,962人 。
For those who don't live in Kaohsiung, your first (and maybe only) point of contact with Sanmin District will be the Kaohsiung Train Station, which was recently remodeled. Alongside (Xin) Zuoying the Kaohsiung Train Station is a major transit point. 不是住在高雄的人對高雄的第一印象應該就是剛完成的高雄火車站，它跟新左營站一樣，是高雄市最重要的交通樞紐 。
The Love River passes through Sanmin. I highly recommend a bike ride along the river from Sanmin all the way down to the Kaohsiung Port. The bike trail along the river offers a surprising amount of scenery, and passes close to several key areas. 愛河經過三民 。 從三民騎腳踏車走愛河單車道往高雄港很不錯 ， 河邊的風景很好 ， 一路上會經過幾個重要地點 。
The National Museum of Science and Technology is east of the Kaohsiung Train Station. It has both its own LRT stop and its own train station. The exhibit on disaster response to Typhoon Morakot is, in my opinion, the best part of the museum. 國立科學工藝博物館位於高雄車站的東邊 ， 它有自己的火車站跟輕軌站 。 我覺得裡面的莫拉克颱風的水災與風災的展示最有趣 。
Some of the other exhibits could REALLY use an upgrade. Overall it's more school field trip fare, and not that interesting for tourists. 其他的展示有的需要換新了， 這裡的展示大部分適合學校戶外教學的活動 ， 但不適合一般的觀光客 。
Many kids love this part though. The play area in the basement is epic. 孩子們都喜愛地下室的遊樂器材 。
This place? This is Dollars, a Carrefour-style shopping mall north of the Dashun Minzu LRT stop. I seem to end up at Dollars a lot. 這是什麼地方 ? 這是大順民族輕軌站附近的大樂賣場 ， 我在高雄的時候常去 。
On the other side of the district and nearer the other end of the Love River bike trail it's much more scenic. This is looking across the river into Gushan District, with Chai/Shou Mountain in the background. I go biking around here often. 這在三民區的另外一邊，較靠近愛河單車道另外一端的風景更好 。 這張照片中，河的對面是鼓山區的壽山 (柴山) ， 我常常來這裡騎單車。
At the southwest corner of the district, a little further down the bike trail, is the Carrefour Love River Store.** This is my favorite Carrefour in Kaohsiung, partly because of its location and partly because it's so rundown. 三民區的西南部 ， 單車道再往下走的附近有家樂福愛河店 。 以高雄的家樂福來說，這家是我最喜歡的， 原因是它的地點跟老舊的外貌 。
Near the same location, again looking across the Love River. 同一個地點 ， 愛河的景色。
Between the Love River Carrefour and the Kaohsiung Train Station you'll find the Sanfeng Central Street Market. It's a fun little place full of traditional goods. It's a bit of a walk from the train station, but if you're visiting on foot it's worth it. 三鳳中街市場在家樂福愛河店 和高雄車站之間 ， 這裡很有趣，充滿著乾貨等傳統商品。它離車站有點遠 ， 可是值得你步行到這裡。
Looking for a weirder destination? The Zhongdu Tangrong Brick Kiln Factory is nice around sunset. When I visited the kiln/factory was closed to the public, but I have the feeling it will be open soon. Even if it's not open, the pasture around the facility and the nearby park are a good place for a walk. 在找比較特別的景點嗎 ? 黃昏的時候可以來中都唐榮磚窯廠。 我去的時候磚窯廠沒有開放 ， 以後可能會開放吧 ? 就算你沒辦法進去，但在磚窯廠附近的草地散步也很舒服 。
There's also the Zhongdu Wetland Park nearby. The coffee shop next to it boasts an impressive view. 中都溼地公園在附近 ， 旁邊咖啡廳的風景不錯 。
For the sake of completism I also visited Jinshr ("Golden Lion") Lake for the sake of this entry. This place is a hassle to get to, and it's really more of a fishing spot. 順便提一下金獅湖 ， 因為這個景點也在三民區 。 去金獅湖比較不方便，而且它比較適合想釣魚的人 。

This? A building on Mincheng Second Road they were tearing down. Looks like it was a hotel? 這棟大樓呢 ? 它位於明誠二路上 ，它正被拆除中 ， 以前是飯店吧?
Sorry if I'm making you dizzy, but these pictures have looped around the western half of Sanmin several times. This is the bike trail again, behind the E. Sky Mall and the Costco. 不好意思 ， 我讓讀者頭暈 了，這些照片繞著三民區的西半部多次 ， 這是好事多、 義享時尚廣場後方的單車道 。

**The Taiwan Carrefour chain will probably change its name soon. The Uni-President Corporation which owns this chain (among many other things) recently ended its relationship with the French corporation that started the business.
