According to the last census, 119,339 people live in South District. 上次人口統計顯示南區的人口數是119,339人 。
This is the southern end of Tainan's Golden Coast, just north of Jiading (Qieding) District in Kaohsiung. I think calling it the "Golden Coast" has probably led to a lot of disappointment over the years. It's better than most of the coastline in Kaohsiung, but it's not Phuket or anything. 這是台南黃金海岸最南端 ， 也是緊鄰高雄市茄萣區北部。 我覺得 "黃金海岸" 這個名稱會讓有的旅客失望 ， 雖然這一段的沙灘比高雄大部分的沙灘好 ， 但是卻不像泰國有名的沙灘那麼美 。
A little further north. From here we could see container ships navigating the Taiwan Strait. 往北一點點 。 在這裡可以看到經過台灣海峽的貨櫃船。
There's a large, boat-shaped building near here (the "Golden Ark") which was a concession area at one time. It doesn't seem to be in operation now. 附近有一船形的建築 ， 以前的用途應該是賣食物， 現在好像已經停止營業了。
Nearby, further from the coast, you'll find the Wannian Temple Gengxin ("Hard Work") Garden. It's a funny little place which reminded me of Qinqshuiyan in Kaohsiung. 萬年殿耕心園離海岸遠一點 ， 它讓我聯想到高雄的清水嚴 。
In the center of the garden is this massive tree. It must have weathered a lot of typhoons over the years. 耕心園中間的這棵樹很大 ， 一定經歷過無數次的颱風 。
This dragon is near the entrance to the garden. It probably looked very different when the garden first opened, but I like the way it looks now. 這條龍在耕心園的入口， 它在耕心園剛完成的時候應該很不一樣 ， 可是我喜歡它現在的樣貌 。
Wannian Temple is interesting in its own right. 萬年殿裡也有趣 。
Some of the carvings here look very, very old. 這裡有的木雕看起來很舊 。
On the other side of the 86 Expressway is the Xishu Old Street, one of several old streets in the area. It seemed like an unfinished project to me. Maybe it'll look better in a few more years? 喜樹老街位於86快速道路的另外一邊 ， 這是其中一部分的老街， 這個景點好像還沒完成 ， 可能幾年之後會比較好看 。
Southwest of the Xishu Old Street is the "Xishu Secret Spot," which isn't secret at all. Local guides teach surfing classes here, and it's a popular local fishing destination. 喜樹秘境位於喜樹老街西南部 ， 衝浪教練會在這裡上課 ， 也有很多當地人來這裡釣魚 。
I doubt it's usually this dirty. Torrential rains probably washed most of this trash here just before our visit. 這裡通常沒有那麼髒亂吧 ? 我們到這裡的前幾天下大雨 ， 垃圾可能因為這樣被沖到沙灘上了。
At the northwest corner of South District is the Four "Kunshen" Seawall Park. 四鯤鯓海堤公園位於南區的西北部 。
From this end of South District down to the Xishu Secret Spot all the beaches are fairly similar. Surfing or swimming is possible, but these beaches are neither as scenic nor as clean as one might like. 從這裡到喜樹秘境的沙灘都差不多了， 在這裡衝浪或游泳都可以 ， 只是風景沒有那麼好 ， 沙灘也沒有很乾淨 。
Even so, I could see their proximity to downtown Tainan being a real plus for those living nearby. It's nice to have beaches in one's own neighborhood. 話說回來 ， 居住在那麼靠近沙灘的地區應該不錯 ， 家附近有沙灘真好 !
We skipped over the Black Bridge Sausage Museum (yes, that's a real place) and the Blueprint Cultural Creative Park because we'd been to both recently. Instead we visited the Shuijiao Community Culture Park, a reclaimed army barracks south of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store on Ximen Road. 我們這一次沒去黑橋牌香腸博物館跟藍晒圖文創園區，因為已經去過了 。 我們去了水交社文化園區 ， 這個景點是以前的眷村， 位於新光三越西門店的南部 。
I'm guessing a lot of people still don't know about this place. It seemed very recently renovated, and there weren't many other people there during our visit. It houses a restaurant, a gift shop, a museum and a couple fighter jets. 我猜很多觀光客不知道台南市區有這個景點 ， 整個地方看起來很新， 遊客也不多 。 這裡有餐廳 、 禮品店 、 博物館和兩架戰機 。
Thanks to the Shueijiao Community Culture Park I have also added this rockin' cap to my collection. The Tiger II! Sweeet! 多虧了水交社文化園區，我把這頂帽子加入了我的收藏。 Tiger II很酷喔 !!
This is the courtyard behind both the restaurant and the ice cream shop. I thought the beef noodles at the restaurant were very good, but the food wasn't cheap. 這裡是餐廳和冰淇淋店後方的院子 。 我覺得餐廳賣的牛肉麵很好吃， 可是價錢有點高 。
