Yongan was formerly known as "Wushulin" (Wu Forest), a reference to the coastal mangrove forests once found there, and it has also been known as "Zhudze (Bamboo) Port." 永安以前叫 "烏樹林" ， 也因為海岸上的紅樹林而被稱為 "竹仔港" 。
According to the last census, 13,856 people live in Yongan. 上次的人口統計顯示永安的人口數是13,856人 。
This is the "Yongan Zhaoxianfu." It's in Yongan Village. I'm a little hazy on all the rituals related to Ghost Month, but this temple was either preparing for or had just hosted some kind of Ghost Month-related activity. 這是位於永安村的永安照顯府 ， 我不清楚鬼月的風俗習慣 ， 可是這所廟好像在準備那種活動 。

Some of the temple architecture here is interesting. Elephants always catch my attention. 這所廟宇的建築很特別 ， 我注意到大象 。
Nearby is the Huang Family Residence, a historic building. The roads in this village are so narrow that I had to walk my way in, and once I finally found the Huang Family Residence I discovered that it wasn't worth photographing. Instead I offer you this picture of the road that led me there. 附近有黃家古厝 ， 村內的道路非常狹窄 ，沒辦法開車，所以我走路去到拍照的地點 。 可惜古厝的拍照價值不高，這張照片拍的是我走進去的那條路 。
To the west of Yongan Village is Yongxin Bay, where you'll find a small park. It's a cute little place with a lot of potential. 永新灣位於永安村的東邊 ， 這個小小的公園不錯 。
The beach here is... not bad? I could see myself swimming in this water, though I'd want to know what kind of factories are nearby first. 這裡的海灘...... 還可以 ! 有人在這裡戲水過嗎 ? 我在這海灘戲水前要先知道附近有什麼工廠 。
We almost had the place to ourselves. The only other person there was an older man near the beach, waiting to send pigeons to some other location in Kaohsiung City. 除了我們兩個之外還有一位老先生 ， 他在等著把他的鴿子放飛回高雄的其他地區 。
The wetland in the park is very clean. There are many small fish in the stream and the adjacent pond. 隔壁的濕地很乾淨 ， 小溪跟小池中的小魚很多 。
North of Yongxin Bay is Yongxin Fishing Port. After visiting this facility I could understand why local fishermen are petitioning so hard for a new one. It's very run down. 永新漁港位於永新灣北部 。 看了這裡的設施之後 ， 我了解地區漁民要換新設施的原因， 這裡的設施都很老舊 ， 好像很久沒有整修了。
I wonder how long this boat has been hanging here. Days? Weeks? Months? 這艘船掛在這裡多久了呢? 幾天 ? 幾個禮拜 ? 幾個月 ?
Like Fengbitou Port in Xiaogang, Yongxin Port is very, very quiet. Yongxin Port does have, however, its share of seafood restaurants. I couldn't tell if these seafood restaurants were still in business or not. I was visiting too early in the morning to tell. 永新漁港跟小港區的鳳鼻頭漁港一樣平靜 ， 不同的部分是永新漁港有些海鮮餐廳 。 我看不出來這些海鮮餐廳有沒有在營業 ， 我參觀的時間太早了 。 (1)
This park is a little north of the port. It's all but abandoned. 這個公園比較北邊一點點 ， 好像沒有接收到村民的愛 。
At the northern end of Yongan, not far from the electrical plant in Jiading District, you'll find the Wulintou Trail. I recommend against visiting this place on a hot day. There's almost no shade here. 永安的北部 ， 茄萣電廠附近會看到烏林投步道 ， 天氣熱的時候不應該來這裡 ， 會很熱 !
Nice view though. And of course there's a sign telling you not to "play in the water." Whether you obey this sign or not is up to you. 風景不錯 。 當然有 "勿戲水" 的牌子 ， 你遵不遵守警語是你個人的事 。
East of the trail and north of Yongan Village you'll find the Yongan Wetlands, an ecologically protected area enclosed by a fence. I took this picture from one of the bird watching areas set inside the fence. In the distance is the electrical plant. 永安溼地位於步道的東部和永安村的北部， 它是一個被柵欄圍起來的生態保護區 。 我在柵欄裡的賞鳥區裡以電廠當背景拍了這張照片。
A lot of fish farming takes place in Yongan. Grouper is still farmed here, but with Chinese import bans in place some local fish farmers might have switched to shrimp or other types of fish. 永安有很多的養殖魚池， 還有人養石斑魚 ，隨著大陸市場被封閉之後，應該有人換養蝦子或其他魚類 。
